Perplexity

Perplexity is the rarest thing in this space: a generative engine that’s also reasonably measurable. Every answer ships with inline numbered citations, retrieval is live by default, and the data is dense enough that most public GEO benchmarks use Perplexity as the baseline. Optimization here is the experiment-friendliest of any platform — the one where you can actually tell whether something worked.
