# GEO Wiki

> Open-knowledge encyclopedia for Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) — the discipline of making content discoverable, citable, and trusted by AI search engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, and the rest of the field). Bilingual (English + 简体中文), source-first, published under CC BY 4.0.

GEO Wiki is organized into four modules surfaced in the primary nav: Wiki (definitional entries), Playbooks (repeatable methods), Research (papers + benchmarks), and Platforms (per-engine deep dives). Every content entry carries a `shortDescription` that powers the TL;DR, a `sources:` field gated by the content schema, and a `lastUpdated` date.

## Editorial principles

Full text at [/about](https://geo.wiki/about); five gated principles:

- **Source-first** — every non-obvious claim cites a primary source (paper, vendor doc, or first-party measurement). The `sources:` field is part of the content schema; entries without sources cannot ship. Tiers: `primary` / `secondary` / `tertiary`.
- **Term honesty** — geo.wiki coinages (e.g. *Answer Loop*, *Generative Engine*) carry an explicit "note on the term" and an `Industry-standard term? No` row, anchored to the established term they build on.
- **Bilingual parity, not translation** — Chinese entries are idiomatic rewrites at English depth; a four-round blind-polish review enforces native rhythm before any zh entry ships.
- **No SEO theater** — entries are as long as the topic requires, no longer; no padding, word-count targets, or site-architecture meta-talk.
- **Open methodology** — benchmarks, scores, and audit frameworks ship with reproducible methodology in the same entry.
