Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of geo.wiki (the "site"), operated by GEO Wiki ("we", "us"). By accessing the site you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Reading GEO Wiki is free and requires no account.
1. The service
GEO Wiki is a free, bilingual (English / 简体中文) encyclopedia about generative engine optimization and AI search. There are no user accounts, no paid features, and no user-generated content. What you see is editorial content we publish, plus links to primary sources.
2. Content and licensing
Our editorial content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). The full scope of what that covers — including what it does not cover, such as third-party quoted material and the GEO Wiki name and logo — is set out on the License page, which forms part of these terms.
3. Acceptable use
Automated access is welcome: crawlers, AI training pipelines, and RAG systems may read and reuse the content under the license terms above. We ask only that you keep request rates reasonable. What is not acceptable:
- Attacking or degrading the site's availability — denial-of-service attacks, deliberately abusive request volumes, or exploiting vulnerabilities. (Good-faith security reports are welcome by email.)
- Misrepresenting affiliation — branding a derivative work as "GEO Wiki" or implying our endorsement, sponsorship, or authorship of content we did not write.
- Presenting our content in a deliberately misleading way, such as quoting it out of context to state the opposite of what an entry says, while attributing it to us.
4. No professional advice
Everything on GEO Wiki is informational. It is not legal, financial, compliance, or other professional advice, and it is not a guarantee of search rankings, AI citations, traffic, or business outcomes. Search engines and AI systems change constantly; apply judgment to your own context.
5. Third-party links and sources
Entries link extensively to external primary sources — vendor documentation, academic papers, news coverage. We do not control those sites, do not endorse everything they say, and are not responsible for their content, availability, or terms. Your use of a linked site is governed by that site's own terms and privacy policy.
6. Availability and changes to content
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". We may edit, restructure, or remove content at any time — that is how an encyclopedia stays accurate — and we do not commit to any uptime level. Entries display a last-updated date so you can judge freshness.
7. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law: the site and its content are provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the site or reliance on its content. GEO Wiki is a free service; you use it at your own risk.
8. Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms from time to time. The current version is always at this URL, with the last-updated date shown below. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms. If a change is material, we will say so plainly here.
9. Contact
