Measurement Intermediate
Step 2 of 5

Citation tracking pipeline

Citations are the easier half of GEO measurement because the engine literally tells you who got cited, complete with a link you can follow. The hard part is upstream: pick the wrong prompt set and you’ll be optimizing for the wrong audience. The manual phase isn’t optional either — you’ll catch every bias in your automation by running the first ten samples by hand.

What to read for this step

  2. Citation vs Mention vs Link

After this step, you should be able to answer

  • How do you build a prompt set that's actually representative of what your audience would ask?
  • Why is the manual measurement phase non-skippable — even when you have automation already?
  • How do you compute deltas without lying to yourself about what changed and why?
