Step 4 of 6

Entity & brand signals in copy

Engines can’t cite what they can’t identify. Resolution — the join from a name to a known entity node — is what makes a mention land on you instead of on some other “Acme Co.”, and the moves that make you resolvable (stable naming, KG presence, sameAs schema) are a different toolkit from the moves that make you authoritative.

What to read for this step

  1. Entity Recognition
    Wiki
  2. Brand Mentions
    Wiki
  3. Knowledge Graph Presence
    Wiki

After this step, you should be able to answer

  • How does an AI engine decide which 'Acme Co.' a mention is referring to?
  • Why are author bylines, company names, and product names a stability problem more than a creative one?
  • What does presence in Wikipedia or Wikidata actually do — and what does it not do?
