Step 1 of 6
E-E-A-T for AI
E-E-A-T was never a ranking factor and isn’t an algorithmic score; it’s the trust gate that decides whether a passage from your page is worth using once an engine has chosen to use anything. Pair it with citability — the shape gate — and you have both halves of grounding; without both, the work that gets you trusted may not be the work that gets you lifted.
What to read for this step
After this step, you should be able to answer
- How does an AI engine 'see' E-E-A-T signals — and how is that different from Google's quality raters?
- What does it mean that E-E-A-T is orthogonal to citability — why do you need both?
- What did Wan et al. find about which signals LLMs treat as 'authority' — and which they ignore?
